So, 4pm Friday 29th August, and it's me finally off. I departed from
my mum's place in London. I had to decline her offer of making some
sandwiches for the trip. 'Mum, I think they could go off at some point
along the way'.
'Do you need anything else, son'? 'Have you packed a vest', do you need anything ironing?
Mum's, you've just gotta love 'em eh?
Sitting here on the plane writing my last new notes before departure is concentrating my my mind on events. It seems forever in the planning, sorting, packing. The next eight months are going to be extraordinary – sights / sounds / people / experiences....
I'm a very lucky guy to be able to do this.
Well, my Stewardess – the lovely Marsha, is telling me to turn off my laptop.
Ready
to depart.
Captain Alastair Mair – Senior BA pilot lines up this huge 747-400 'Jumbo jet' on Heathrow's runway 23L and then with a massive surge of power and acceleration, the aircraft, his 17 crew-members, 312 passengers and of course Woz, are headed up to the skies for a 14 hours flight transatlantic flight – destination unknown.
Hmm, 'Leavin on a jet plane' and 'destination unknown' - they'd make great song titles. Wonder why no one's ever written a song?
